About Me

Overview

Hotel Manager
It is my belief that a Hospitality Professional embraces the "Hospitality Spirit" not only with Customers but with Employees, Vendors, and the overall Community - in that he or she constantly strives to exceed the  expectations of all that they encounter.

I have over twenty years experience in the Hospitality Industry. My experience includes select service, full service, and upscale Hotels & Resorts along with Timeshare properties, in many different markets nationwide

I have a deep passion for the Hospitality Industry, as it provides me with the opportunity to fully utilize my skills and talents to help properties reach their fullest potential.  I have a proven track record for improving the overall performance of Hotels & Resorts where I have had the privilege to be part of the team.

I get a great sense of fulfillment in leading a property and the team to reaching our goals and watching the transformation from where we were, where we are, and where we are going.

My Core Values:

Respect - Integrity - Transparency - Accountability - Humility - Optimism

I consider myself an inspirational leader who motivates employees daily to excel in their job performance in order to meet the high expectations set by myself and the leadership team.  Every day I choose the Attitude of a Champion and watch the staff absorb that same winning attitude.  It makes for a productive, rewarding, and challenging work climate.  I’ve always followed the rule: Hire for Attitude, and train to your standards.  I set my expectations for staff during the interview process to help set the tone for anybody potentially coming on board.  I have always had a humble approach to leadership.  I do not consider the employees are here to help me succeed, rather I am here to help them succeed.

Leadership Rolling Up Your Sleeves

I enjoy rolling up my sleeves and being hands on in day to day operations, as it gives me valuable insight to make better informed decisions in elevating the property’s performance.  It is my job to excel in the expectations of my employees as their leader.  Employees want respect, structure, stability, accountability, regular feedback and advice to elevating their performance.  I strive to provide a fun, inspiring, challenging, and professional work environment.  Consistency is key.  Leaders are always under the microscope of employees.  If a Leader occasionally does not meet the standards he or she sets for the staff, they will get the impression that it is ok for them to slack off once in a while.  Slacking off once in a while then turns into a habit.  This reminds me of the quote by Aristotle, “We are repeatedly what we do.  Excellence is not an act, but a habit.”

Leadership Style

The #MeToo Movement

Hotel Leaders need to be cognizant of the #MeToo movement and be ever mindful of instilling a professional work environment where all team members are treated with respect at all times.  There is a difference between simply having employees sign a zero-tolerance harassment policy versus leadership taking a proactive approach in providing a safe, professional work environment without the fear or worry of inappropriate behavior and/or sexual harassment.
